Here’s where the 16 Mile Cellar Pinot Noir story gets exciting. The 2014 Incivility is the first to include fruit from the estate, located at the foot of the 20 Mile Bench near the town of Jordan. The reserve tier bottling is produced as a barrel selection, with the declassified fruit going to the Rebel label. In 2015 and on, it will be produced exclusively from the estate. A small percentage (28 percent) of Pinot purchased as grapes from Malivoire Wine Company completed this blend, which includes a mix of Dijon clones (mostly 115 and 667 with small amounts of 828 and 777) and barrels to increase complexity. This is a richly concentrated wine that needs bottle age to truly show its personality. The core of dark fruit and spice flavours and youthful tannins show the potential for aging here, with best drinking promised 2018-2022. 170 cases.
