CedarCreek’s estate 2015 Cabernet-Merlot is a blend of 54 percent Merlot, 28 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, and 18 percent Cabernet Franc from the winery’s two estate vineyards in the southern Okanagan, (It differs significantly from the estate Meritage, which includes a significant portion of Malbec in the blend.) The firm structure and herbal essence of Cabernet is the story here, with some flesh and juicy flavour from the Merlot. There’s serious character here that needs time to unfurl. A long decant or a year or two in bottle will serve you and this special wine well.
