Clos de los Siete 2017

Clos de los Siete 2017

Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina

$24.95 (622571)

This pioneering malbec blend from Tunuyán, located 120 km south of Mendoza, with vineyards located at 1,100 metres above sea level, helped to create international attention for the Uco Valley in Argentina. The 2017 vintage is a mix of 52 percent malbec, 21 percent merlot, 15 percent syrah, seven percent cabernet sauvignon, three percent petit verdot and two percent cabernet franc. The resulting wine is ripe and round, with a supple texture from start to finish. This is marked by upfront chocolate, floral and fruit notes, which make for a nice complex red wine that’s ready to drink. Not as age worthy as I remember, but in today’s buy and consume market that’s not really an issue is it? Drink now to 2023. $26.99 in British Columbia, various prices in Alberta, $24.99 in Manitoba, $24.95 in Quebec (90/100)
