Culmina Family Estate Winery 2013 Hypothesis
Golden Mile Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia
Culmina's flagship Bordeaux-style blend is produced with 38 percent Merlot, 36 percent Cabernet Franc and 26 percent Cabernet Sauvignon from the Triggs family's Arise Bench estate vineyard. The wine was matured in 100 percent French oak, 60 percent new and 40 percent one-year old. The resulting wine is tightly wound at this early stage of development, but with the stuffing and character to safely predict an enjoyable red after four to six years in the cellar. A steady hand in the vineyard and cellar is making the Culmina wines shine. The 2013 wines were crafted by winemaker Pascal Madevon, who continues to consult on this exciting project.
