Located between the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains and the Mediterranean, Tautavel is an ancient village in Roussillon where some of the oldest human remains have been unearthed. It’s a special place, not least for the style of wine coming from the region’s weathered Grenache, Syrah and Carignan vines. The 2015 Tautavel combines equal parts Syrah and Grenache with 20 percent Carignan to create an intensely fruity and fragrant red wine. Ripe, concentrated and complex, this is a rewarding red that is drinking wonderfully now and will mature nicely in bottle over the next four to six years.
