De Loach Vineyards 2014 Stubbs Vineyard Chardonnay
Petaluma Gap, Marin County, California, United States
One of the highlights of the recent International Cool Climate Chardonnay Celebration, this distinctive single-vineyard Chardonnay from De Loach is one of the first wines to sport the new Petaluma Gap appellation on its label. The coolest region in the county, the Petaluma Gap’s growing conditions are defined by the influence of the Pacific ocean and fogs that cover the vineyards in early morning and late afternoon. The freshness of the wine is what really appeals. It’s a full-bodied, dry and rich white wine, but the fruit is more pear and citrus and the acidity is refreshingly crisp, which makes it stand apart from many Californian Chardonnays. Highly Recommended.
