From a collaboration between Charles Bieler and Charles Smith, this is a rich and rewarding blend of cabernet sauvignon and syrah from Columbia Valley in Washington state. The aromas and flavours are robust and complex, with upfront savoury and smoky notes overtop a core of dark fruit and dark chocolate. Each grape variety is fermented separately with native yeast. This is a serious dry red wine that’s drinking nicely now and promises to mature in the cellar if you’re so inclined. Drink now to 2025. (90/100)
