Cloudsley Cellars 2015 Homestead Vineyard Pinot Noir

Cloudsley Cellars 2015 Homestead Vineyard Pinot Noir

Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula

$50

Homestead is one of eight vineyards owned and operated by the Wismer family. Located in Vineland, part of the Twenty Mile Bench sub-appellation, Homestead’s Pinot Noir vines (a mix of clones 115 and 777) were planted in 1999 and 2002. This single-vineyard bottling is comprised of three barrels (one new, one two year old and an older “neutral” barrel). Like most classic Niagara Pinots, this promises to enter its prime-drinking window after two years in the bottle. Right now, it’s bright and intense, with everything in the right place. There’s an attractive core of ripe cherry, spice and earthy notes. The complexity, texture and length are poised to develop in satisfying fashion. Decant for best enjoyment if you’re looking to enjoy in the near future. Drink 2020-2026. 70 cases. 92/100
