This appealing ripe and concentrated red offers attractive jammy fruit and mocha aromas and flavours. The blend is 90 percent Zinfandel with 10 percent Petite Sirah, aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels for added complexity. On the palate, there’s a warm spice and cedar component that adds to the attraction. As is the case with most Zinfandels, this weighs in at 15 percent alcohol, but there’s enough stuffing here to carry that load, without throwing off the balance or coming across with too much alcohol heat on the palate.
