Le Clos Jordanne Jordan Village Pinot Noir 2019

Le Clos Jordanne Jordan Village Pinot Noir 2019

Niagara Peninsula, Ontario

$24.95

This is a blend of declassified barrels of pinot noir produced from of the original Le Clos Jordanne sites along King Street in Jordan: Le Clos Jordanne and Claystone Terrace. Le Clos was prized for its floral notes and sweet fruit. Claystone is more savoury, meaty, with darker fruit and more depth. They work well together as this blend shows. There a nice fragrance suggesting ripe fruit and some floral notes. A core of sweet berry fruit, but it’s not heavy. There’s admirable freshness. Nice lingering finish after that sweet start. Tannins are firm, but fine. This is really youthful. Only just ready to drink. Worth hanging on to so it can mellow and develop more interest. To my taste, Niagara pinot starts to show its true character after its second year in the bottle. This promises to reward anyone with that patience. Drink now to 2028.
